We decided to purchase an insulated flyover to enhance our entertaining options year-round. With temperatures soaring to nearly 40°C in summer and plummeting to -7°C in winter, our insulated flyover ensures true comfort throughout the year.

We wanted something practical and affordable, yet stunning enough to complement the modern-rustic aesthetics of our home. Our flyover complements our home beautifully, featuring Merbau-look posts and color-matched roofing sheets.
The team was super supportive and helpful when one of our posts arrived damaged, promptly replacing it to avoid any delays in our installation plans. Once we got into a rhythm and settled on who was the forewoman and who was the muscle, we managed to avoid arguing like a couple on The Block! Installation was a breeze, thanks to the clear and detailed instructions and design diagrams. There were still a few raised eyebrows and "told you so" moments, but we were stoked with the result.
Not only does our insulated flyover provide a cool spot in summer to enjoy the sunset with a well-deserved beverage and a cosy shelter in winter to relax by the fire, but it also significantly boosts our rainwater harvesting capacity. Living rurally without access to town water or a bore, this additional roof space is crucial. We were pleasantly surprised when a large storm cell overflowed our tank—something we hadn't accounted for, making it clear that we needed another tank!
We've since added a tracked outdoor blind for extra comfort, and the pizza oven is in the making! It's a real pride moment to say, "We built that!" When visitors ask where we got our flyover from and who constructed it, they can't believe we DIY'd it!
