My wife and I had downsized our home a while ago, and as usual, I always look at what improvements I could do to the property to enhance our North Queensland outdoor lifestyle. Now I’m not a builder but consider myself an achiever and are willing to give DIY ago at all times to save a buck or two. On reviewing these instructional videos which I must say “were clear and easy to follow” I decided to send thru my patio plans and measurements for the side of the house where I wanted the patio. I couldn’t be happier with the communications back from Smartkits Australia with support of drawings / plans and options of materials and then the cost of the kit. After comparing the pricing and service supplied by Smartkits Australia I decided to purchase the flyover kit. Prior to the kit arrival I received all the technical drawings and instructions for construction, how to access extra support in case it was required and links to access the construction videos online.
Now remembering that I live in North Queensland (well known for those strong winds – Cyclones) So the technical drawing is required by local council for approval prior to building anything up here, the supplied technical drawing was submitted and passed without any concerns, now it was just up to me to wait for arrival of my kit and start the build process. Well, the kit arrived, extremely well packed and no damage, with contents pages to ensure all item’s had been supplied, and instructions if something was missing, which wasn’t the case. With all items correct and accounted for, the construction stage was right to commence.
I had already spent many hours planning, what was required, (by watching the videos and marking out the placement of supports) So away I went and I can assure you that the process was quite straight forward and easy (remember I’m not a builder just type of guy that likes to DIY to save a buck or two) The build and construction process was made easy by the on line videos and if required I could Phone Smart Kits if required. So, I have attached a couple of photos (Before and After) so you could see the finished product.
